I really like shots with reflections in windows and things. It's hard to pull off and to even find that "perfect" situation but when you manage to capture it, it can produce something really interesting with a lot of depth. Here, I like the person sitting to the left of the frame and also the dark silhouette to the right (you taking the photo?).
Thank you very much! We took the new camera of the She-part of our website out for a testroll of film and the laundrette seemed a nice place.
You're right, He is the person taking the picture on the right, when you look closely, you can see the small camera in his hands. He didn't want to waste her film, so took only two pictures. In one was a large truck, and the other one was this.
We had great doubts the concept of reflection had worked, 'cause it wasn't very dark outside. But maybe that's what made this shot work: that you can see the complete exterior and not only lights.
Thank you! Photoshop has nothing to do with photography. And it would be kind of stupid after developing the film in our bathroom, to re-do it with some software. Sometime soon we'll print it and upload the scan!
Oh no! It wasn't meant offensive, so you don't need to feel stupid. We just meant we didn't have to do it exactly as we want it to (manual camera and develop the film ourselves) if we're going to photoshop it after that all that work. This is the negative scanned with a film scanner, but we will make a 'real' print in our bath...uh...darkroom and upload that instead.
I'm fond of shots making use of multiple exposures and reflections, so it's natural that I would be attracted to this piece; it's a strong example of the style, and speaks a lot about city life and the anonymity & detachment that surrounds it.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
